John O’Connell has been a passionate supporter of the Mary Potter Foundation for over fifteen years and has been involved in raising in excess of $150,000 through numerous events over that period. John was appointed to the board of the Mary Potter Foundation in 2017 and is the current Deputy Chair and Treasurer. The Mary Potter Foundation supports specialised palliative and end of life care, unique support programs, education and research for people with life limiting illnesses and their families. They do not receive church or government funding and rely on donations from individuals and our community.
John O’Connell has been a volunteer in numerous capacities for The Tax Institute since 1996, including most recently the SA State Chairman. John’s service record can be found here. The Tax Institute is Australia’s leading educator and professional association in tax comprising more than 15,000 tax professionals across Australia.

Joc has been advising Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’S) for over thirty years.
In April 2015, after 30 years involved in medium sized accounting firms, Joc decided to do what many of his clients had done, a startup, and Joc&Co was born.
Having personally been through that journey, and knowing that the first two years of any startup are the critical ones, he has an intimate understanding of business, rather than a helicopter view.
The other foundation stone of Joc&Co is the ‘white sheet of paper’. In a startup there are no legacies that are imposed, and a true focus on the most efficient cloud based business is a driving focus.
Joc loves collaborating with his clients and has a strong trusted group of business partners, that he works with to solve all clients' needs.
He has a strong focus on cloud technology, and improving business systems and enabling business efficiency.
In his spare time, he loves spending time with his daughter Holly, family and friends and trying to squeeze in a game at Glenelg Golf Club, or planning Holly and his next travel adventure.
